Choose Life That Your seed may live, Peter Roberts

Dueteronomy 30:19 says “I set before you life and death, blessing and curse; therefore choose life that you and your seed may live.”

After growing up in a certain Protestant denomination, with perfect Sunday school attendance K-12, my father finally met the Lord in college through a campus-oriented Christian group. But with his rebirth came a strong hunger for truth and experience which was not being satisfied there. His search that led him to the experience of Christ was brought to a higher level. Soon he began to meet with the local church where he could fully partake of the reality and experiences revealed in this rich ministry. My mother, raised Catholic, also found the local church and the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee while searching for reality and for God during her college years. They met, and were married while meeting with the local church in Houston, Texas.

Although this sounds like my parents story, it is mine too, because their choices resulted in my very existence, placed me in the best environment to grow up, and brought to me the opportunity to make a similar choice to know God experientially and live in the practical expression of the Body of Christ-the local church.

I will be eternally grateful to my parents and to the Lord for His mercy in giving me such parents who chose life that they and their seed may live (Deuteronomy 30:19). I've grown up surrounded by love and care and with a healthy infusion of the word of God from both my immediate family and my huge extended family from Austin, Texas, to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, then to Taiwan and finally back to Irving, Texas so that they could serve the Lord full-time, I felt immediately at home wherever we went because I received the same care and tasted the same Christ everywhere.

I received the Lord into my heart at age six, was baptized a few years later, and have been led to live a fulfilling life of knowing and experiencing the vast riches of Christ in the local church with the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. I am now twenty-four years old and hold a B.A. from the University of Texas. I am currently attending a Full-Time Training in Bible truth and church service established by Witness Lee in Anaheim, California. . My appreciation for all I've received in the local churches under this ministry has led me to give the rest of my life to serve to Lord in His Body with the hope of bringing others into the rich blessing of life that I have received, while simultaneously satisfying God's purpose for a corporate expression on the earth, which will consummate in His prepared bride to bring Him back. Praise and thank the Lord!
